MJ Habal (Michael Joseph Tan Habal) is a digital marketer, web developer, and commercial audio producer based in the Philippines, specializing in SEO, content strategy, performance marketing, paid media, websites, and digital systems. He currently leads digital marketing at C&E Adaptive Learning Solutions and Metrostar Realty Development Inc.. On top of that, he has more than a decade of experience in music composition, commercial audio, and sound engineering.

For most of my career, I've been drawn to the same question:

Why do people make the decisions they do?

That curiosity has taken me through digital marketing, real estate sales, commercial audio production, and more recently, web development. The industries changed, but the underlying interests stayed remarkably consistent: understanding people, communicating ideas, and building systems that help things move forward.

Today, I lead digital marketing initiatives across education and real estate, working on everything from SEO and paid media to content strategy, analytics, and customer acquisition. Before that, I spent several years in real estate sales, where I learned that buying decisions are rarely as rational as they appear on the surface.

Music has been the constant throughout all of it. For more than a decade, I've composed, arranged, produced, and engineered audio for artists, brands, and commercial projects. Audio taught me attention to detail. Marketing taught me how people think. Both disciplines taught me that small changes can create outsized results.

This website sits at the intersection of those interests.

You'll find essays on marketing, decision-making, and human behavior, along with selected audio work and occasional experiments in web development. Some pieces are practical. Others are simply observations I've collected over the years.

The site itself is one of those experiments. What started as a place to publish ideas gradually became a project in its own right, built with Astro and continuously refined whenever a new idea catches my attention.

Most of the work you'll find here comes from the same place: a curiosity about how people think, what influences their decisions, and how better systems, stories, and experiences can shape outcomes.
